This is the one to plan around. Applications for the Grade D1, D2, T1 and T2 drinking water exams must be postmarked by this date to sit the winter exams. If he starts the Sac State course material now, he is comfortably ready.

Trade apprenticeship application windows
IBEW 340, UA 447, Operating Engineers 3 and IUOE 39 each open on their own schedule, sometimes for a single week. Elevator Constructors is often one week per year. Call each office and ask to be put on the notification list, because that costs nothing and is the only reliable way to catch them.

Exams are open year-round and scored instantly, but you cannot apply to a posting without having passed its exam first. Job postings themselves often close in 10 to 14 days. Take the exams now so you are eligible when something good posts.
